Partnering to Raise Awareness

Tuesday, February 26, 2019

Former Spurs player and cancer prevention advocate Sean Elliott and his wife, Claudia Elliott, MS, RD, are teaming up with South Texas Radiology Imaging Centers (STRIC) and Methodist Healthcare to increase awareness of the benefits of screening mammography.

Many women with breast cancer show no symptoms, making the screening mammogram critical to early detection and a successful treatment plan. Women who book a mammogram at STRIC using the promo code “SPURS” will receive a complimentary Sean Elliott Spurs T-shirt with Elliott’s name and iconic number “32” on the back. The goal is to reach as many women as possible with the message about the importance of screening mammography.

According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women, with more than 252,710 women in the U.S. diagnosed each year. It is the second leading cause of cancer death among women.

Women may book appointments by calling 210-617-9000 or online at
