Miles Against Melanoma City Solve Scavenger Hunt 2015
Miles Against Melanoma South Texas and City Solve have partnered for their second annual Scavenger Hunt. The date of the event is 10/10/2015; race starts 11:00am sharp! The race will begin at The Friendly Spot, 943 S Alamo, San Antonio TX.
People of the Alamo City love CitySolve’s one-of-a-kind San Antonio scavenger hunt as much as they love and idolize Tim Duncan and the Spurs. Think of this urban adventure race as a mash up between The Amazing Race and pub trivia. Teams will solve clues centered on pop-culture and face fun interactive activities all over San Antonio. In 2014, one of the exciting CitySolve Urban Race San Antonio interactive activities was a basketball challenge host by the San Antonio Fuel. These Amazing Race enthusiasts went to the San Antonio Convention Center where each person had to show off their dribbling skills. Fun, right!?! Totally! This San Antonio Amazing Race style scavenger hunt might take you and your friends through King William, the River Walk, HemisFair Park and many great places in between.
In addition to the scavenger hunt, the proceeds go for a good cause. Miles Against Melanoma South Texas is a volunteer organization who donate event proceeds to local organizations who are fighting skin cancer. This year, MAM is supporting the Travis Park Skin Clinic. This is another volunteer organization run by the Dermatology Interest Group, students who are focusing their studies on Dermatology at UTHSCSA. This clinic was created to help the underprivileged and homeless receive the skin treatments they need - including melanoma. The students work in tandem with dermatologists who donate their time to treat this demographic. They work solely on donations; MAM intends to help them obtain medical supplies and improvements to the clinic itself.
