Mark Drew, Vice President and Production Manager for Amegy Mortgage in San Antonio, explains how Amegy Mortgage can help you with your residential financing goals.
How many years have you been in banking, and what is your approach to home finance?
My banking career began in 1996 after graduating from Texas A&M. I became a mortgage officer in my second year after serving as a personal and affluent banker. As a mortgage officer, I was influenced by the service level that my private banking colleagues provided their clients. Rather than taking a transactional approach, the relationship was based on a holistic view of the clients’ needs and becoming a part of their “team.” I wanted to bring that same mindset to the mortgage loan process, which more often than not was essentially transactional.
Aside from the traditional conventional, FHA and VA programs, what are some of the programs that you specialize in?
One-Time Close Construction Loans
One-time close construction loans combine the interim construction loan and the permanent mortgage loan into one simple transaction. This allows the client to apply, qualify and close once. In addition, the rate is locked up front and the appraisal is completed up front as well. Locking the rate up front is critical in a rising rate market. Amegy Mortgage is one of the few lenders that offers an in-house, comprehensive, one-time close program with solid advice and guidance.
Non-warrantable condominiums are developments that do not meet the minimum guidelines for conventional investors such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. A development may be non-warrantable simply due to being new and not yet reaching the occupancy level that Fannie Mae mandates.
How can Amegy Mortgage help healthcare clients?
At Amegy, we believe that strong client relationships are the foundation of successful mortgage experiences. We specialize in working with healthcare professionals at all levels of their career and positions from salaried to the self-employed. That philosophy, coupled with our commitment to the local community, is why Amegy Mortgage has continued to grow — even in the toughest economic times.
What distinguishes you from other non-bank lenders?
Working in partnership with our team of Amegy private and retail Bankers provides a comprehensive approach for individuals and families. Clients have immediate access to home equity lines of credit and other Amegy Bank resources that can assist them with their home financing goals.
